The Nookery First Anniversary Instagram Giveaway: Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to The Nookery Book Club’s First Anniversary Instagram Giveaway.
By entering the giveaway, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Promoter
The giveaway is organised and promoted by Nookery Book Club Ltd (“The Nookery”).
2. Eligibility
The giveaway is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over.
Employees, contractors or anyone directly involved in administering the giveaway are not eligible to enter.
No purchase or Nookery Book Club membership is necessary to enter.
3. Giveaway Period
The giveaway opens on Saturday 29 August 2026 and closes at 11.59pm on Sunday 6 September 2026.
Entries received after the closing time will not be included.
4. How to Enter
To receive one entry into the giveaway, entrants must:
Follow @nookerybookclub on Instagram; and
Comment on the giveaway post with their favourite book they have read so far in 2026.
Entrants can receive one additional bonus entry by tagging three people who they think might enjoy The Nookery Book Club in a separate comment on the giveaway post.
Each person may therefore receive a maximum of two entries in total:
One standard entry; and
One bonus entry.
Additional comments or additional tags beyond this will not result in further entries.
Entrants must continue to follow The Nookery’s Instagram account at the time the winner is selected so that their entry can be verified.
5. The Prize
One winner will receive a £50 Bookshop.org gift card.
The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered.
The gift card will be subject to any applicable terms and conditions imposed by Bookshop.org.
The Nookery is not responsible for any changes made by Bookshop.org to its gift card service, redemption process or terms.
6. Winner Selection
The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received before the giveaway closes.
Each valid standard entry will be entered once into the draw.
Entrants who have completed the bonus-entry requirement will receive one additional entry into the draw.
The draw will take place after the giveaway closes.
7. Contacting the Winner
The winner will be contacted by The Nookery Book Club’s official Instagram account, @nookerybookclub, via Instagram direct message within three days of the giveaway closing.
The Nookery will not ask the winner to make a payment, provide bank details or pay any fee in order to receive their prize.
The winner must respond within five days of being contacted.
If the winner:
does not respond within five days;
cannot be contacted;
is found to be ineligible; or
has not complied with these Terms and Conditions,
The Nookery reserves the right to select another winner at random.
8. Receiving the Prize
The winner will be asked to provide a valid email address so that the £50 Bookshop.org gift card can be sent electronically.
The winner is responsible for ensuring that the email address they provide is correct.
The Nookery will not be responsible for a prize being delayed or undeliverable because incorrect contact information has been supplied.
9. Winner Announcement
The Nookery may announce the winner on its website, Instagram account or other social media channels.
Where appropriate, this may include the winner’s first name and/or Instagram username.
The Nookery will not publish the winner’s email address or other private contact information.
10. Personal Data
Any personal information provided in connection with the giveaway will be used only where necessary to:
administer the giveaway;
verify entries;
contact the winner; and
deliver the prize.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with The Nookery Book Club’s Privacy Policy.
Entering this giveaway does not automatically subscribe an entrant to The Nookery’s mailing list.
11. Invalid Entries
The Nookery reserves the right to exclude entries that it reasonably believes are:
fraudulent;
automated;
submitted using fake accounts;
submitted on behalf of another person;
in breach of these Terms and Conditions; or
otherwise intended to unfairly manipulate the giveaway.
Incomplete entries may also be excluded.
12. Instagram
This giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram or Meta.
By entering, entrants acknowledge that Instagram and Meta have no responsibility or liability in connection with the giveaway.
Entrants provide their information to Nookery Book Club Ltd and not to Instagram or Meta.
13. Bookshop.org
This giveaway is organised independently by Nookery Book Club Ltd and is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Bookshop.org.
Bookshop.org is not responsible for the administration of the giveaway or the selection of the winner.
14. Changes or Cancellation
The Nookery reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the giveaway where circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary.
Where reasonably possible, any significant changes will be communicated through The Nookery’s Instagram account.
15. Responsibility
The Nookery cannot accept responsibility for entries that are not successfully submitted due to technical faults, internet connection problems, Instagram outages or other circumstances outside its reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
16. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising in connection with the giveaway will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
